The Hovercraft SRN 4

This is an original photograph taken on roll out day of the worlds first  SRN 4 class of Hovercraft. I know this to be a fact, because I took it.  The design of this hovercraft was to prove so successful that shortly after going in service, two were withdrawn, and in turn made the return journey back to Cowes to be lengthened, both of which are still in service today crossing the channel daily.
