The Needles:-
The Isle of Wight westernmost point is the famous natural landmark 'The Needles', with its lighthouse, which until recent years was still manned.
There are excellent views from the National Trust-run Needles Old Battery fortification and its nearby historic clifftop rocket testing range while below at Alum Bay, with its famous cliffs of coloured sands, is The Needles Pleasure Park, glass works and chair lift down the cliff to the pebbled beach:-
